This translation of Dr. Ahmad al-Afghani's book, Sarab fee Iraan, provides the English reader with a concise view of the treacherous role played by the Shiites in Islamic history. It also examines the doctrines of modern Shiite scholars and presents the Islamic ruling passed on Shiites by both early Muslim scholars, as well as contemporary scholars.
The need for material which critically analyzes Shiite doctrines continues to be felt by English-speaking Muslims inspite of recent efforts to fill the void. Pro-Sheeah books, magazines, newspapers and pamphlets in which the noble companions of the Prophet (pbuh) are slandered, 'Alee and some of his descendents deified and Islam distorted, continue to flood Muslim communities throughout the West with little or no written response from Muslim scholars. Consequently, the wave of conversion of Muslims to Shiite thought is steadily increasing to such a degree that Shiite Masjids and centers are actually being founded or built by Shiite converts from mainstream Islam.
